Merry Blue Christmas.

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone. I know I am terribly behnd on this blog & for anyone who happens to read me, I am truly sorry{ and humbly repent}

This Christmas, for several reasons, is basically an unhappy one for me. But since it is a rather ” blue Christmas” it forces me to think of what the season is * really ” about.  It is rainy & dark in my part of Florida, my family won’t be in town until New Years’  most folks about whom I care are too far away,, the economy stinks & doesn’t seem to  be improving anytime soon……all which add up to a  pretty blue Christmas for me. But I am grateful for many things.

I need to remember this as  I prepare my heart & mind for Mass later this evening. ” For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son…”

Julian of Norwich has a quote that I keep repeating silently to myself ” All will be well that all will be well”. I know God is in charge & not me. I know that in my soul. But the rational human side of me is so unwilling to totally surrender to God, even though I know darn well God is God. God tells the patriarchs in the Old Testament” I AM WHO I AM”. God is God & I am me. But God, in he infant Jesus, became human in the Incarnation. That…my friends, is what Christmas is really about.

Gloria in excelsis Deo!
